So I should just be up front. The original challenge for this month was adrenaline. I had a really busy month planned, and thought I could use some of that energy and fuel to write something that mirrored what was going on. Instead I found myself in the few moments I had to write; staring at the screen feeling tired and far from adrenalised. In fact it was almost the opposite, that shaky, unreal feeling that accompanies the withdrawal of adrenaline. When the world is quiet and there’s finally, finally nothing left to do for the day.
What I needed was strength. Strength to keep going and find a way to be creative even as my bed beckoned and the words seemed to be stuck in stone. So that became the focus. Strength. Find time to be strong and do everything required. Then get refuelled for adrenaline later on.
A quick search for definitions give me the following two:
Strength is the quality or state of being physically strong.
Strength is the capacity of an object or substance to withstand great force or pressure.
So looking forward, the pressure is easing and the memory of it is still there, so looking forward to putting strength on a page, in any form, for anyt object or person. It’s a quality that anything can have, aspire to or show. Till next month (which is rapidly approaching!).
