I was recently having lunch with a friend of mine and she said there’s nothing worse than being teased with tiny pieces of information and then having to wait. So I promise not to drag this on too long, but sometimes, like in this photo I took while driving from Whistler to Vancouver last year, you just have to pull over, take a breath and enjoy the moment.
It’s funny how in most things you work hard on, the final stretch is like going over the crest of a hill. It’s a one last big push until the slope finally levels off and you pick up a little speed going down the other side. That’s the feeling I have after the past few weeks. It started a couple of weeks ago when I got a call from my husband telling me to check my inbox. Sitting there was a wonderful little email telling me one of my short stories had been accepted for publication! After doing the regulatory running, jumping off walls dance around the house I read it through and am happy to announce that the piece, called “Last Christmas” will appear in July’s edition of AntipodeanSF (Issue 228).
If you want to read it all you’ll need to do is go over to the site and sign up for the magazine which is issued monthly. It won’t even cost you anything! 🙂
So… being a little buzzed about that, I sent out a few more, and have some more good news, but one at a time I think… To Be Continued….
